bio

Perpetual Sequence is the 9th full-length album from Croc Shop, featuring long time members Mick Hale and vMarkus. The duo takes a decidedly Post-Electro, Pop & Synth-Rock approach on these 11 captivating tracks, with occasional nods to their goth-rock and electro-industrial origins.

Originally conceived as "Crocodile" Shop in a flat above a record store in West Berlin, the band released their debut album in 1988. Produced by Dave Fielding of the Chameleons UK, Lullaby featured a dark goth-rock based sound that only hinted at what was to come. Over the next few years, the band transitioned toward electronic industrial, after an ongoing replacement of people with machines. In 1993 they released their first commercial CD, Celebrate the Enemy.

Signed to Metropolis Records in 1995 the band went on to release the albums Beneath, Pain, Everything Is Dead And Gone, Order + Joy and World in the following years to much critical, chart, and popular success.

2004 saw the release of SEA (self extracting archive), featuring a double-length CD chronology of the band’s musical output. Pursuing other musical interests, Mick Hale and vMarkus took a longer-than-expected break from recording together.

Some 15 years later, with the “election” of and chaos caused by Trump, the band’s political and creative fires were rekindled and they began to work on new material which resulted in the blistering 9-song album Resist! Released in May 2020 on all digital platforms, they followed it up shortly with (TRiP:) The Rest In Pieces, a 30-song “Rest Of” Croc Shop that featured many remixes and most of the album tracks previously unavaiable as downloads.

Throughout their long musical journey, CS has toured heavily across North America and Europe in support of their albums, and have garnered loyal fans the world over. They have appeared on stage with bands such as Front 242, Project Pitchfork, Nitzer Ebb, The Damned, Numb, Switchblade Symphony, Xymox and Rammstein.

The band has been described live as an “audio-visual-assault” with multimedia video projections, energetic stage presence, and bold lighting.
